Joy Stoney

Joy is a Charleston, SC native, who graduated from Converse College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school Joy was the Contracts I & II tutor and was inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. Upon graduation, she worked for several years at a civil litigation firm representing catastrophic personal injury clients. She then opened her own private practice in the Charleston area representing clients for 12 years prior to joining forces with a law partner. Joy has successfully represented numerous clients in state and federal courts throughout the years, obtaining significant settlements and judgments on their behalf.

Joy has over 15 years’ experience providing successful client representation in the practice areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, workers’ compensation, social security disability, and probate work. Named an NBL National Top 100 Lawyer, an AIPI 10 Best Personal Injury Attorney, Innovator Under 35, and a Converse College 125 Outstanding Alumnae Award.

Joy is a member of the South Carolina Bar and is active in the community, formerly serving as board chair of TAA, and currently serving on the board of Protection & Advocacy for People with Disabilities, Inc.

Overture E. Walker

Overture E. Walker is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, he completed summer studies abroad at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in London, England. Upon graduation, Overture began his career as an Assistant Public Defender in the Fifth Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Richland County where he defended clients charged with a variety of crimes including major drug offenses, violent felonies, and misdemeanors. After a brief stint in the Public Defender’s Office, he joined the staff at the Office of the City Attorney in Columbia. Overture served as a City Prosecutor and an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Columbia where he prosecuted criminal cases and defended the City against lawsuits.

Overture has been in private practice for more than 10 years concentrating in the areas of personal injury, automobile accidents, slip and falls, workers’ compensation and criminal defense. He has successfully represented criminal and injury clients while earning a reputation among his peers as a skilled trial attorney. He is admitted to practice in all of South Carolina’s Federal and State courts.

Overture practices in the firm’s Columbia office and is a member of the Richland County Bar and South Carolina Bar. He is active in the community, serving on the South Carolina Appleseed Justice Center Board and Columbia Housing Development Corporation Board.

Overture is married to Sharon DuPree Walker and they have a daughter.
